What if I am a Moslem?
If you are a Moslem you know that there is only one God, that He is holy and almighty, and that He wants a response from us. You know that death is not the end.
You will probably be doing things hoping to please God - praying, fasting, giving etc.
However, as Christians, we believe that you cannot know God as a loving father, or have the joy of knowing that all the sin in your life has been forgiven by God, or enjoy a close relationship with Him. All of these are only possible through believing in His son, the Lord Jesus Christ. And unless we trust in him we cannot enter into Heaven. He said "I am the way and the truth and thelight, noone cones to the Father but by me".
Also however much good you do the sin in your life (the bad things you have done) has cut you off from God. Nobody is good enough not to deserve punishment from God, and the punishment is death.
You may despise the lifestyle you see in the West. Western culture has drifted far away from following the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Although as a society we may have the name of being Christian it is no longer true. There is much that is not right. We are greedy, we do not care enough for our families, we allow babies to be aborted, we have low moral standards, and many people have no time for God, and do not pray at all. This is not how God wants us to be. But Jesus told those who follow him to be lights in the world, and Christians should be different.
There is no need if a Moslem becomes a Christian for him to adopt Western ways or to abandon his culture. Being a Christian is not to do with fitting into the pattern of the world around us. Indeed the Bible tells us not to be conformed to the world. There are churches of people who have been Moslems who keep their traditional dress, language, and (except where it actually clashes with what the Bible teaches) their customs and way of life. Some call themselves Isahi Muslems. They believe in the Lord Jesus and in Him are submitting to God, without taking on the things in Western cultural which seem wrong to them.
It seems to be that many Moslems are seeing Jesus in dreams. If he is calling to you to follow him then do it. You will probably suffer persecution, but it is more important to follow where God is leading you than to stay safe. Jesus said, " If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."
We believe that God's holy book is the Bible, but even in the Koran there is acknowlegement of how Jesus is greater than just being a man. For example in Al Imran 3 you can read how Isa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) is the Messiah, was born of a virgin, how he healed the blind and lepers and brought the dead to life, his birth was announced by angels, and Allah said He would terminate his life and cause him to ascend to Him.
If you want to become a Christian the way is the same as for anyone else:
1. Believe that God came into the world in the form of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die for us.
2. Admit to God that you are in need of forgiveness and that you are sorry for the bad things you have done.
3.Ask Jesus to become Lord of your life
